Est. 1984 in Taiwan
History
BenQ Corporation is a Taiwanese consumer electronics company that is best known for marketing affordable computer monitors. Originally founded in 1984 as a subsidiary of Acer, it was spun off in 2001. While BenQ has marketed a range of personal computing products, including laptops, mobile phones, and digital cameras, it now focuses on computer monitors and generic computer peripherals.
Similar to some of the other Taiwanese electronics manufacturers in the PC market, BenQ peaked at the turn of the century. Like its original parent company, BenQ's business scope has shrunk continually and its brand awareness fell during this period.
