Nikon introduced its first APS-C camera in the new Z-mount mirrorless system, the Nikon Z 50, late last year (2019). Its compact size and lightweight construction, combined with the ability to mount new, compact Z-mount lens designed for mirrorless cameras, make the Z50 a compelling option for vlogging. To attract new users who are interested in an affordable, complete solution without fussing over which gears to go by, Nikon has packed a few strong accessories to the Z50 in creating the Z50 Creators Kit.

What Is Inside?

To complement the weight advantage of the Z50, Nikon has thrown in the NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR lens, the most compact of all Nikon lenses. The NIKKOR offers an interesting zoom range that covers selfie-style vlogging at the wide end and some telephoto functionality at the long end. The lens is also optically stabilized for improved handheld video capabilities.

While the Z50 features 4K UHD 30p and FHD 120p (for slow-mo) support, image is only half of a video. Nikon packs a RODE VideoMicro Microphone that easily mounts to the hot shoe or the SmallRig bracket included in the package.
The SmallRig LCN2525 vlogging mounting plate is specifically designed for the Z50. It adds an additional tripod thread and duplicates the original tripod mount by relocating it. This makes flipping down the screen while vlogging effortless. Further accessories can be mounted on the cold shoe on the side, too.

The Joby GorillaPod 3K provides stability on a broad range of surfaces as a compact tripod. Its flexible legs can also be adjusted to wrap around objects when the situation demands. Moreover, in vlogging situations these legs can extend the reach for videos, selfies, and livestreaming.

Last but not least, this package also includes a free access to Nikon School Online Class "Creator's Mindset: Creating Video Content with Z 50" as well as a Nikon Travel Kit bag with convertible straps.
