Product Overview

Hasselblad XCD 2.5/38V is a wide-angle prime lens for Hasselblad X-mount. It covers the medium format image circle. Introduced by Hasselblad in 2022, it has 10 elements in 9 groups.
One of a trio of lenses introduced with the launch of the new X2D 100c, the 2.5/38V comes with Hasselblad's new design that incorporates a clutched focus ring. On the lens barrel, one can find a physical aperture ring. Those who wish to focus manually can have the best of both worlds (with the usual caveats).
Unfortunately, Hasselblad has opted to omit weather sealing for this lens, so owners should pay extra attention when shooting in incremental weathers. This is to make the lens as light and compact as possible. Indeed, it is exceptionally so for what it is.
As a wide-angle prime lens that happens to have relatively small maximum aperture, it is best suited for landscape photography, though some may wish for a brighter alternative for versatility. Even though the lens is not stabilized, at this focal range it does not usually matter. In fact, some may be able to get cleaner corners without image stabilization.
