Product Overview

Nikon Nikkor Z 17-28mm F2.8 is an ultra wide-angle zoom lens for Nikon Z-mount. It covers the full-frame image circle. Introduced by Nikon in 2022, it has 13 elements in 11 groups.
Compared to the Z 14-24mm F2.8 S, this non-S lens is slotted to be a more affordable option.
Photographers will be pleased by the fact that the lens is internally-zooming, meaning that the barrel does not extend when the focal length is changed. This helps balance and weather sealing; it is also great for long-term durability, as there is less chance for moisture and dirt to get in. For incremental weathers, Nikon is kind enough to include weather sealing.
The f/2.8 maximum aperture is quite bright for a ultra wide-angle zoom lens and can be quite valuable for night and astro photography. During daytime, it can offer a unique perspective for landscape photography as well. Even though the lens is not stabilized, at this focal range it does not usually matter. In fact, some may be able to get cleaner corners without image stabilization.
