Product Overview

Audi R8 Mk2 Spyder (Type 4S) facelift is a high-performance convertible sports car in production from 2019. It is available with a range of V10 engines that displaced 5.2 liters.
Compared to the pre-facelift, the facelifted Mk2 R8 finally got RWD, after almost two decades of demands from customers. However, at this point, manual transmission has long gone.
Undoubtedly, the most exciting thing about the Audi R8 is the V10 engine, which carries a distinct sonic characteristic and instant power response that rival V12s even if it falls short in terms of smoothness.
Utility-minded owners will likely need to keep an alternative for hauling things around, as the tiny cargo space is almost surely insufficient.

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
The £149,890 R8 Spyder V10 Performance can be a civilised, comfortable car. Acceleration is delightfully linear and impressively rapid up until 6000rpm. But the pace and noise are there to mask a car that’s otherwise not quite as exciting as its crib sheet might lead to you believe.
Pros
  • Powerful V10 engine
  • Impressive handling
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • A bit too serious
  • Lack of expressiveness

cnet[2]

Reviewer score 96% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cnet have found:
The 2020 Audi R8 Spyder will hit 60 mph in 3.3 seconds. The V10 Performance can be optioned with a carbon-fiber sway bar that saves 4.4 pounds. The rear-biased all-wheel-drive system sends torque front and back as needed.
Pros
  • Powerful V10 engine
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Excellent infotainment system
Cons
  • Rear-biased all-wheel-drive
  • No adaptive cruise control

digitaltrends[3]

Reviewer score 91% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
Treat the car like a (very quick) Audi A3, and you'll find the R8's sweet spot. Despite a 602hp V10 monster, the car subjectively feels like it is tolerating your exuberance rather than egging you on. The 2020 R8 comes with no central touch screen, no advanced climate system or heads-up display.
Pros
  • Powerful V10 engine
  • Raspy exhaust note
  • Fantastic interior
Cons
  • Lack of digital tech
  • Not the most fun to drive
