Product Overview

Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class Coupe C167 is a mid-size crossover in production from 2020. It is available with a range of inline-4, inline-6, and V8 engines that displaced 1.9 to 4.0 liters.
Compared to its predecessor, the C167 GLE Coupe is just as ugly but more pompous. The plug-in hybrid drivetrain can help the owner save on fuel and car tax, though those who plan on keeping the car after warranty should be mindful of the complexity.
Those who drive offroad, for work or leisure, will appreciate the approach, departure, and breakover angles that the chassis offers. The official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.

Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
MBUX’ infotainment system with its wireless smartphone charging and ‘augmented reality’ navigation, and a Burmester premium stereo. For those who like a fully-loaded luxury car, that should do very nicely. The GLE 400d Coupe actually handles pretty tidily when hurried along and it’s secure and stable enough, too, when you dial up the suspension.
Pros
  • Powerful diesel engine
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Lots of standard equipment
Cons
  • Not the most agile of big SUVs

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 71% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The GLE Coupé 400 d boasts 325bhp and a thumping 700Nm of torque from its turbocharged 3.0-litre straight-six engine. It does away with the less powerful GLE 350 d's mild-hybrid assistance, but it's actually faster. For the £73,205 this car costs, you also get matrix LED lights, keyless operation, panoramic roof, heated and vented seats, wireless charging, blind-spot and lane-keep assist.
Pros
  • Powerful diesel engine
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Excellent infotainment tech
Cons
  • Expensive to run
  • Limited rear space

cnet[3]

Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cnet have found:
There's so much grip from the wide wheels and sticky rubber, the GLE53 always feels surefooted. The variable all-wheel-drive system is able to split torque between the axles. MBUX remains one of my favorite infotainment systems, with great AMG-specific displays and settings.
Pros
  • Powerful V8 engine
  • Comfortable ride
  • Great infotainment system
Cons
  • Lack of standard equipment
