Product Overview

Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class Coupe C253 facelift is a compact hunchback crossover in production from 2019 to 2022. It was available with a range of inline-4, V6, and V8 engines that displaced 1.9 to 4.0 liters.
Compared to the pre-facelift model, the facelifted C253 GLC Coupe received few changes. Notably, Mercedes discontinued RWD models and introduced PHEV nonsenses. The plug-in hybrid drivetrain can help the owner save on fuel and car tax, though those who plan on keeping the car after warranty should be mindful of the complexity. Its official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 61% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 has been given a facelift including a new bespoke AMG grille and lights. It's also been given more power, with fettling to the 3.0-litre V6 twin turbo lifting output to 385bhp from 362bhp previously. Alongside that, AMG’s engineers have done a spot of fiddling with the rear-biased all-wheel-drive system and the chassis dynamics, with aim to boost agility.
Pros
  • Powerful V6 engine
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Lacklustre ride quality

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The GLC 63 features a 4.0-litre engine that nestles a pair of turbos between the banks of its eight cylinders. As before, it's available in two flavours: the standard version with 469bhp and 650Nm of torque, and the S model driven here with 503bhp. Performance is staggering: on the road it feels every bit as fast as the claimed numbers suggest, and there's no letting up as the relentless shove pushes well into three figures.
Pros
  • Gorgeous looks
  • Powerful engines
  • Impressive infotainment system
Cons
  • Lacklustre on-road performance

cnet[3]

Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cnet have found:
The AMG GLC43 Coupe has a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that is both smooth and potent. The engine delivers a healthy 385 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque. Despite having a price tag north of $70,000, it still lacks a range of useful advanced safety features.
Pros
  • Powerful V6
  • Comfortable ride
  • Good infotainment
Cons
  • Lack of advanced safety features
  • Laggy gearbox
