Product Overview

Audi SQ5 Sportback (Type FY) is the hunchback variant of the SQ5 performance compact crossover in production from 2020. It is available with the same V6 turbodiesel engine that displaced 3.0 liters in Europe; outside Europe, a 3.0L bi-turbo V6 petrol is used.
Those who drive offroad, for work or leisure, need to think twice before pulling the trigger: the Audi SQ5 Sportback is hardly the "offroader" that Audi would like you to think.
Compared to the standard SQ5, the Sportback reflects the collective degeneration of aesthetics of modern society.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 65% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
-rear drive split of 40:60, although Audi says up to 70% of drive can be transferred to the front or 85% to the rear, depending on prevailing traction. There’s an ABS-based torque-control system across the axles; it brakes a wheel that lacks for grip and/or traction and redirects drive to the one with greater purchase. The control of body movement is particularly good, thanks to the adaptive qualities of the dampers and general tuning of suspension. Sadly, the variable-rate steering, while nicely weighted, lacks for vital feedback.
Pros
  • Relaxing ride
  • Impressive torque and low-revving performance
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Slightly sloping rear seats
  • Variable-rate steering lacks vital feedback
