Audi RS Q8 (F1/4M)
Mid-Size CrossoverProduct Gallery
Product Overview
Audi RS Q8 (F1 / 4M) is a high-performance large crossover in production from 2019. It is powered by a single hot-V8 engine that displaced 4.0 liters.
Compared to the standard Q8, the RS brings back the V8. Its mild-hybrid drivetrain enables new efficiency features, though the difference is, as the name suggests, mild.
Owners may find that at speed the vehicle consumes a lot more than the numbers indicate, thanks to a disappointing 0.36 coefficient of drag to show for it.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Audi RS Q8 comes with multi-link suspensions at all four corners.

External Reviews
autocar[1]
Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)The RS Q8 has the same twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol that serves in the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and Lamborghini Urus. There’s also a 12kW starter/generator that gives the unit mild-hybrid status, plus cylinder deactivation. Drive is transmitted to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic to four-wheel drive that can channel up to 80% of the torque to the back axle.
Pros
- Powerful V8 engine
- Powerful turbocharged engine
Cons
- Pricier than rivals
- Not fun to drive
autoexpress[2]
Reviewer score 52% (normalized by Neofiliac)The £111,400 super-SUV is as quick as a Porsche 911 and as heavy as a Rolls-Royce Phantom. Everything about the RS Q8 is supersized, from its enormous 23-inch alloy wheels to its 591bhp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 powerplant. The response from the engine is explosive, while the big SUV's quattro set-up ensures all of that performance is efficiently put down on to the tarmac.
Pros
- Powerful twin-turbo V8
- Impressive handling
Cons
- Too big for some
- Not particularly engaging to drive
carmagazine[3]
Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Q8 on steroids comes with carbon ceramic brakes, quattro sport differential and a deregulated top speed of 190mph, up from 155mph. With Drive Select in Dynamic, overtaking distances shrink to half a dozen car lengths and are more often than not completed in second or third gear. More than anything, this car loves quick esses and multi-lane roundabouts built halfway up a mild slope.
Pros
- Powerful turbocharged V8
- Quattro sport differential
- Impressive handling
Cons
- Rear torque bias
- No ABS
carwow[4]
Reviewer score 89% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Audi RS Q8 is the most expensive car Audi's RS division makes. It's a massive, practical, comfortable SUV, but it's also ridiculously fast and good fun to drive. It has a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 that's shared with the Lamborghini Urus and Bentley Bentayga. It'll sprint from 0-62mph in around 3.8 seconds, which is quicker than a Porsche 911 Carrera.
Pros
- Powerful engine
- Comfortable to drive
- Superb infotainment
Cons
- Not as fast as rivals
cnet[5]
Reviewer score 90% (normalized by Neofiliac)The 2021 Audi RS Q8 starts at $115,595, including $1,095 for destination. Cargo room also isn't too shabby with a healthy 30.5 cubic feet on offer that grows to 60.7 cubic feet with the back seats folded. The MMI Touch Response system is simply stellar.
Pros
- Top-notch performance
- Superb infotainment system
- Excellent standard equipment
Cons
- Lack of standard tech
digitaltrends[6]
Reviewer score 79% (normalized by Neofiliac)Horsepower and torque help offset weight, so the RS Q8 has a lot of both. The eight-cylinder doesn't stop accelerating until the speedometer indicates 189 mph. The standard four-wheel steering system turns the rear wheels in the opposite direction of the front wheels.
Pros
- Powerful V8
- Comfortable ride
- Excellent infotainment system
Cons
- No adaptive air suspension
- Awkward steering
