Product Overview

Jeep Renegade facelift is a subcompact crossover in production from 2018. It is available with a range of inline-3 and inline-4 engines that displaced 1.0 to 2.4 liters.
Compared to the pre-facelift Renegade, the facelifted model has a more aggressive exterior styling but little material differences, though Jeep introduced PHEV for those who think they need it.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the Jeep Renegade uses MacPherson suspensions, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 33% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
The Renegade 4xe defaults to its ‘hybrid’ running mode on start-up. Ask to go quicker than about half-throttle and the combustion engine will fire up and chip in. It has Battery Save and Battery Charge running modes, too, as well as an Electric one. The piston engine is noisy and boorish when revving.
Pros
  • Decent off-road performance
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Won’t be for everyone
  • Some drivability issues

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 38% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The Renegade Trailhawk has a more utilitarian feel inside and out. It has rubber mats instead of carpets in the footwells and rugged exterior trim. Parking sensors are a definite necessity in a car that's surprisingly difficult to park considering its compact dimensions. The boot offers a competitive 351 litres of space with the seats in place, and 1,297 litres when they're folded.
Pros
  • Decent off-road performance
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Decent interior space
Cons
  • Poor pedestrian safety
  • No automatic emergency braking
