Product Overview

DS 7 Crossback is a compact crossover in production from 2017. It is available with a range of inline-3 and inline-4 engines that displaced 1.2 to 2.0 liters.
Based roughly on the Citroen C5, the DS 7 has upscale exterior and, for the first time, independent suspensions at all four corners.
Those who drive offroad, for work or leisure, need to think twice before pulling the trigger: the DS 7 Crossback is hardly the "offroader" that DS would like you to think. The official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the DS 7 Crossback uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 37% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
There is unusually generous space for those on the rear bench and 555 litres of load capacity with all the seats up. A 12.3in touchscreen is standard on all but the lowest trim level and there are oversized toggle switches flanking the gearlever. The entirely digital, matte-finished instrument binnacle looks fabulous but isn’t easily legible, the seats are sumptuously appointed but under-bolstered.
Pros
  • Superb ride quality
  • Decent infotainment system
Cons
  • Too many compromises
  • Expensive compared to rivals

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 51% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
4,573mm long, 1,625mm high and 1,906mm wide, with a wheelbase of 2,738mm. It's longer than the Volvo XC40, Jaguar E-Pace and Range Rover Evoque. The DS 7 Crossback has run the Euro NCAP gauntlet and has emerged with a full five-star rating, notching up a 91 percent score for adult occupants and 87 percent for child occupant protection.
Pros
  • Cheap to run
  • Good standard equipment
  • Decent fuel economy
Cons
  • Poor ride quality
  • Poor practicality

carmagazine[3]

Reviewer score 60% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
The plug-in drivetrain adds 300kg (basically four Formula E drivers) to the kerbweight. The seats not only look highly attractive and are pleasingly low set. There are four driving modes: Zero Emissions, Sport, Hybrid and 4WD. In the back there's just enough space for a six-feet tall adult to sit comfortably.
Pros
  • Sleek interior
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Decent infotainment system
Cons
  • Muddy on twistier roads
  • No automatic transmission

carwow[4]

Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carwow have found:
The DS 7 Crossback's interior is a very nice place to sit. The suede-like Alcantara on the dashboard, doors and seats gives fancy German models a serious run for their money. All but Elegance versions come with a 12.3-inch digital instrument binnacle and a central infotainment screen that has clear and colourful graphics.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Lots of standard equipment
  • Decent infotainment system
Cons
  • Not the easiest to use
