Product Overview

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate S213 facelift is an executive station wagon in production from 2020. It is available with a range of inline-4, inline-6, and V8 engines that displaced 1.6 to 4.0 liters.
Likely the last generation of E-Class available with a V8, the S213 Estate has more "woke" engineering but still retains some appealing elements that used to make Mercedes special. New is the addition of I6 petrol engines that replaced the old V6.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Mercedes-Benz E-Class S213 comes with double-wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear. Combined with RWD, this setup provides one of the best handling characteristics and tuning capabilities.

For the first time, the E Class gets the MBUX infotainment/navigation system, so the cockpit and screens feel a lot fresher. Two 10.25-inch screens are now standard on all models. There’s also a new steering wheel design with a three-spoke, split-bar look, featuring capacitive touch controls.

Pros
  • Powerful engine
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Decent ride quality
Cons
  • Fiddly infotainment

Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
The car is best for those who will do not only long journeys with diesel power but also many much shorter ones, which it can complete entirely on electric power. Compared with Mercedes’ previous diesel, the motor under this bonnet is actually fairly refined, but so quiet is the car in electric mode that it still comes as something of a shock when the conventional engine cuts in.

Pros
  • Fantastic electric range
  • Quiet when powered only by electric power
Cons
  • Battery pack takes up a lot of space in the boot

Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
The E-Class saloon takes its inspiration from Mercedes' S-Class. The plug-in diesel versions appear to be a slightly stronger bet, as expert data predicts residual values of around 51-54%. The cabin feels upmarket, with the slick centre console design, metal-finish air vents and 64-colour ambient light set-up giving the car the same luxurious ambience as the brand's flagship.

Pros
  • Sleek interior
  • Good standard equipment
Cons
  • Lacklustre fuel economy
  • Lack of standard equipment
