Product Overview

Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate S206 is a compact executive station wagon in production from 2021. It is available with a range of inline-4 engines that displaced 1.5 to 2.0 liters.
Compared to prior C-Classes, the S206 no longer has access to any 6-cylinder engines, let alone the V8 found in previous C63 AMGs. There is also no longer any manual option. In their stead, the S206 brings in the "hybrid" nonsense.
Mercedes-Benz has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.27 coefficient of drag to show for it. The official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate S206 comes with multi-link suspensions at all four corners. This provides the best cornering performance and tunability, at the expense of cost and a little bit of durability.

We drove the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class last week overseas but we’ve now driven it in the UK, albeit still early left-hand-drive examples. The estate is the same 4751mm length as the saloon, unlike the previous model, which was a touch longer than the four-door. The 1.5-litre petrol engine with integrated 48V mild-hybrid starter-generator that boosts low-end torque and response. The numbers say the C200 hits 62mph from rest in 7.5sec, which makes it the same sort of speed as a Toyota GT86.

At launch the car will be available with a choice of three engines - the C 200 petrol that we're trying here, and a pair of four-cylinder 2.0-litre diesels, badged C 220 d and C 300 d. It produces 201bhp and 300Nm of torque, and this is fed to the rear wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission.
