Product Overview

Audi S5 Sportback B9 (Type 8W6) facelift is a compact executive liftback sedan in production from 2019. It is powered by a V6 turbodiesel engine that displaced 3.0 liters.
For this generation, Audi gave the S5 Sportback a mild-hybrid drivetrain, though the difference is, as the name suggests, mild. Audi has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.28 coefficient of drag to show for it.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Audi S5 Sportback comes with multi-link suspensions at all four corners. This provides the best cornering performance and tunability, at the expense of cost and a little bit of durability.

Reviewer score 61% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
The Audi S5 Sportback is a well-resolved cruiser. It handles with more agility than you might expect, too. While the four-wheel drive system detracts from any sense of playfulness, the security and stability is a worthy trade-off in everyday driving. The first tank of fuel has delivered an indicated 34mpg figure.
Pros
  • Powerful diesel engine
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Laggy gearbox calibration
  • Ride comfort could be better

Reviewer score 90% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cnet have found:
The best thing about the S5 Sportback is a trait I've found in Audi's other S cars: great balance. The RS5 has this nice balance as well, but it's $20,000 more expensive than an S5. The S5 gets a few little updates this year, including refreshed LED headlights and taillights.
Pros
  • Gorgeous interior
  • Excellent infotainment tech
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • No rear-wheel-drive option
  • No third-row option
