Product Overview

Citroen AMI is an entry-level subcompact battery-electric hatchback in production from 2020. It is powered by 8hp of electric power aided by a tiny battery capacity of 6kWh.
Classified as a "quadricycle" that requires no license to drive, the AMI can reach only 45kph. Citroen uses the cheapest materials it can find for this vehicle, and it shows in "cars" that are just a year old. To reduce cost, Citroen even used the same panels for the front and rear, and the left and right sides are also identical.
A plus is the extraordinarily small 7.2m (23.6ft) turning circle.

Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
The feeling of space inside the ami is quite unlike anything we've driven in recent years. The dashboard sits stretched out way ahead of the driver and passenger. There's no air-conditioning, but there is a heater. The ami's top speed is limited to 27mph in order to comply with European quadricycle classifications.

Pros
  • Spacious interior

Cons
  • Pricier than rivals
  • No air-conditioning

Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
Citroen Ami is just 2.41 metres long and 1.39 metres wide. Follows a very similar principle to the Renault Twizy, another small French quadricycle that looks bonkers and relies on a small electric motor. There's no airbags, infotainment systems or even soundproofing anywhere to be seen. The ride is bouncy, and overall refinement isn't a strong point.

Pros
  • Smaller than the Twizy
  • Lots of fun to drive
  • Decent interior
Cons
  • Only 8bhp
  • No infotainment system
