Product Overview

Mini Hatch 3-door F56 LCI is an affordable subcompact hatchback in production from 2018. It is available with a range of inline-3 and inline-4 engines that displaced 1.5 to 2.0 liters.
Compared to the pre-LCI, the LCI Mini Hatch has improved styling but more troublesome engines, especially in the petrol department. The new Euro 6d emission requirements make these engines less reliable, less efficient, and less powerful: The goal is not to reduce emissions but to make these engines unviable so that people will purchase more polluting EVs.
Mini has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.28 coefficient of drag to show for it.
Compared to the 3-door variant, the 3-door is the quintessential Mini and, despite its new-found unreliability, is an icon.

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 63% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
Intelligent Adaptive Suspension is standard on Sport-spec cars and £400 on others. Can open a valve in the damper in as little as 50 milliseconds to reduce damping forces by up to 50% during the fastest and most violent wheel impacts with the road. It's not as polished as some, but its hyperactive, puppyish approach means it’s difficult not to enjoy yourself when pressing on.
Pros
  • Powerful engine
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Decent handling
Cons
  • Not as refined as the Fiesta ST
  • Not as fun to drive as the Mini ST

This generation of the Mini three-door originally went on sale in 2014. It was updated in 2018 with new headlights, Union Jack tail lights and the option to have custom 3D-printed trims fitted in various places. It also introduced a brand new ‘Mini' logo, as well as some new engines and gearboxes to choose from.
Pros
  • Fantastic infotainment system
  • Lots of fun to drive
Cons
  • Tiny boot
  • Not that practical
