Product Overview

BMW 7 Series G11 / G12 LCI is the facelifted full-size luxury sedan in production from 2019 to 2022. It was available with a range of inline-6, V8, and V12 engines that displaced 3.0 to 6.6 liters.
Compared to the pre-facelift G11/G12, the LCI brought limited cosmetic updates, mostly because sales have been steadily declining in the segment. Much of the same engines from pre-LCI were used, though consecutive tightening of emission requirements have them more complex and possibly less reliable in the long run.
Nevertheless, the G12 was still available with a V12 (though with reduced power output, thanks to Euro6d).
Engineers at BMW clearly made a great effort in aerodynamics, with a class-leading 0.24 coefficient of drag to show for it.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the BMW 7 Series G11/G12 comes with double-wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear. Combined with RWD, this setup provides one of the best handling characteristics and tuning capabilities.

Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
The latest 7 Series rode the looping Portuguese roads of our test route sublimely well, with such balance, grace and so little body roll you'd swear this 1965kg 750Li xDrive was 200kg lighter. New interior materials and digital array combine to elevate the ambience. Prices start at £69,445 for the 730d and £71,735 for the entry-level petrol, the straight six 740i.
Pros
  • Gorgeous interior
  • Fantastic infotainment system
Cons
  • Not as refined as S-Class

Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
BMW 7 Series is still one of the most hi-tech cars for sale in the UK today. Facelifted look will take some getting used to, but it still excels. Plenty of technology as standard, but BMW also offers wide range of options. Prices start from just over £70,000, while the top-spec M760Li is around double that.
Pros
  • Best-in-class tech
  • Excellent handling
  • Excellent range of engines
Cons
  • Lack of standard equipment

cnet[3]

Reviewer score 87% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cnet have found:
The 2020 BMW 7 Series is a luxury cruiser that aims to be comfortable to drive and be driven in. The reworked turbocharged V8 in the 750i xDrive is no slouch, with 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. The plug-in hybrid 745e xDrive offers better all-electric driving range than the puny 14 miles of the outgoing 740e.
Pros
  • Powerful turbocharged V8
  • Excellent all-wheel drive
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Lacklustre ride quality
