Product Overview

Audi S4 B9 (Typ 8W) facelift is a performance compact executive sedan in production from 2019. It is available with a single bi-turbocharged V6 diesel engine that displaced 3.0 liters. An 8-speed automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels.
Compared to the pre-facelift model, the main difference is the chain of engine from petrol to diesel. Audi carried out this change because the new Euro6d emission standard makes it difficult for VW to comply with the same level of output.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Audi S4 (B9) comes with multi-link suspensions at all four corners. This provides the best cornering performance and tunability, at the expense of cost and a little bit of durability.

External Reviews

autoexpress[1]

Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
Mild hybrid system uses an integrated alternator starter and a 0.5kWh lithium-ion battery. Electric compressor installed between the intercooler and the engine effectively eliminates turbo lag. 342bhp is slightly down on the old petrol, but peak torque figure is a whopping 700nm. The eight speed gearbox shifts smoothly and is reasonably responsive.
Pros
  • Gorgeous looks
  • Powerful engine
  • Excellent handling
Cons
  • Lacklustre infotainment system

cnet[2]

Reviewer score 86% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cnet have found:
The 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 with 349 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque is still its smooth, punchy self. The BMW M340i xDrive and Mercedes-AMG C43 outgun it with 382 hp and 385 hp, respectively. The S4 shines during spirited drives, tracking through bends with little body lean.
Pros
  • Powerful turbocharged V6
  • Comfortable ride
  • Powerful infotainment system
Cons
  • Lacklustre handling
