Product Overview

Volvo S60 III is a compact executive sedan in production from 2018. It is available with a range of inline-4 engines that displaced 2.0 liters paired to an Aisin 8-speed automatic transmission.
Built on Volvo's new SPA platform, the S60 Mk3 has a full inline-4 engine lineup. This is a unique choice in its class. Compared to earlier S60 models, the limitation of I4 engine is apparent when it comes to smoothness.
Volvo compensates with electronic gimmicks and an "aggressive" styling that departs from its classy predecessors.
Volvo has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.27 coefficient of drag to show for it.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Volvo S60 III comes with double-wishbone and multi-link suspensions.

Reviewer score 68% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
Volvo has had several years of (under Geely ownership) well-funded development time for its plug-in powertrains. In town or country pootling, it’s as delightfully smooth and serene as a pure EV. When the engine is fired up, it does so almost imperceptibly unless you stomp inelegantly on the throttle. But we found the standard Hybrid mode to be the most balanced for most situations.
Pros
  • Powerful engine
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Pricier than rivals
  • Not the most fun to drive

Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The Volvo's engine is coarser when it's working as well, but otherwise it's a nicely refined package. Both cars' eight-speed automatic transmissions were superbly smooth and rarely got caught out switching between power sources. The Volvo is faster and rides as well as the BMW, plus its powertrain is punchy yet smooth while delivering strong fuel efficiency.
Pros
  • Punchy powertrain
  • Lots of safety tech
  • Excellent fuel efficiency
Cons
  • Cheap to run
  • Lack of boot space

carmagazine[3]

Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
The T8 Polestar Engineered brings something new and a little different to the fast car party. It suffers from the brilliance of its rivals, but we love the throttle and damping, as well as its stealthy, badass, looks. It's not fast or focused enough to seriously challenge the BMW M3, nor is it as charismatic to drive as the six-cylinder Mercedes-AMG C43. But what it does do well is cover ground quickly, quietly and without fuss.
Pros
  • Impressive handling
  • Impressive damping and body control
  • Excellent interior quality
Cons
  • Not fast enough to challenge the BMW M3
  • Bassy low-speed ride

cnet[4]

Reviewer score 69% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cnet have found:
The S60's cabin is beautifully crafted, with loads of leather, contrast stitching and upscale materials. R-Design models feature Nappa leather-covered seats that are dressed up with fabric accents. An entry-level, front-drive, S60 Momentum model can be had for right around $37,000.
Pros
  • Gorgeous interior
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Excellent fuel economy
Cons
  • Lackluster infotainment
  • Sensus Connect isn’t the best
