Product Overview

Porsche 918 Spyder is a flagship high-performance mid-size targa supercar in production from 2013 to 2015. It was powered by a hybrid powertrain build around a naturally-aspirated V8 engine that displaced 4.6 liters.
Compared to the LaFerrari Aperta that the 918 competed against, the 918 Spyder is arguably more technology-oriented, even though it is down on power and performance, in part due to the superiority of Ferrari's V12. Still, Porsche enthusiasts were excited about this vehicle and many went ahead and purchased it.
Due to the PHEV system, the 918's official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.
Compared to the Carrera GT, which was the 918's predecessor, the 918 Spyder is less characterful. With its maze-like electronics, one can expect it to have less success in the collector's market.
