Lotus Elise Series 1 is a subcompact targa sports car in production from 1995 to 2000. It was available with a two tunes of Rover-sourced naturally-aspirated inline-4 engine that displaced 1.8 liters paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The Elise was a superb hit, thanks to lightness: The car weighs under 3/4 of a ton. This affords it superb handling characteristics and allows the driver to thoroughly enjoy it on public roads without breaking the laws.
