Kia Sorento (chassis code BL) is a compact SUV in production from 2002 to 2009. It was available with a range of inline-4 and V6 engines that displaced 2.4 to 3.8 liters.
One of the few real SUVs to have come out of South Korea, the Sorento is slotted below the Kia Mohave / Borrego that replaced it but above the Sportage that sold alongside it. While Kia has since com a long way, the Mk1 Sorento was a horrible vehicle overall and has little to boast for.
Those who drive offroad, for work or leisure, need to think twice before pulling the trigger: the Kia Sorento is hardly the "offroader" that Kia would like you to think. Owners may find that at speed the vehicle consumes a lot more than the numbers indicate, thanks to a disappointing 0.42 coefficient of drag to show for it.
