Product Overview

Hyundai Santa Fe 4 (chassis code TM) is a mid-size crossover in production from 2018 to 2020, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4 and V6 engines that displaced 2.0 to 3.5 liters.
Compared to the Mk3 Santa Fe, the Mk4 received a rather handsome design. In many aspects, it has decidedly eclipsed the Honda CR-V, the vehicle that it has long sought to compete against.
A global car, the Santa Fe is assembled in numerous countries with several engine lineups, with the more desirable ones limited to countries with less strict emission requirements.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 57% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
While the 2018 Santa Fe rides on an all-new platform, the powertrains are carried over. New is a safety system that temporarily locks the doors should an occupant attempt to open one into the path of oncoming traffic. There’s a new head-up display of heightened clarity, and the infotainment screen functions as a virtual rear-view mirror. The main engine for the UK will be the current 2.2-litre 194bhp diesel.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • New head-up display
  • Decent handling
Cons
  • Not UK-bound
  • Lacklustre infotainment

Reviewer score 58% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The all-new Hyundai Santa Fe is a talented family car. It offers space, comfort and kit in spades, as well as an accomplished driving experience and impressive refinement. However, no matter how much standard kit it offers, top-spec models like ours are expensive – even on a monthly PCP finance deal.
Pros
  • Gorgeous interior
  • Lots of standard kit
Cons
  • Expensive on a monthly PCP

cnet[3]

Reviewer score 66% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cnet have found:
The base Santa Fe is powered by a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine making 185 horsepower. All Santa Fe models use an eight-speed automatic transmission routing power to the front wheels. The Santa Fe performs nicely off-road and also looks good against a backdrop of beach selfies.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Good off-road performance
Cons
  • Lack of tech
  • Lackluster infotainment tech
