Product Overview

Dodge Nitro is a compact SUV in production from 2007 to 2011. It was available with a range of inline-4 and V6 engines that displaced 2.8 to 4.0 liters.
A more posh alternative to the Jeep Wrangler and a variant of the Jeep Liberty, the Nitro used a body-on-frame design with four-wheel independent suspensions.
Those who drive offroad, for work or leisure, need to think twice before pulling the trigger: the Dodge Nitro is hardly the "offroader" that Dodge would like you to think.

Reviewer score 36% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
The Dodge Nitro is being aimed at buyers on a budget so prices will start at less than 20 big ones. It's being pitched at motors such as the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento. Despite that 210bhp it feels a bit gutless. The steering doesn't have much of a relationship with the front wheels.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Lots of standard kit
  • Good looks
Cons
  • A bit gutless
  • Alternatives are more fun to drive
