Product Overview

Volkswagen Golf 5 (typ 1K) is a compact hatchback in production from 2003 to 2008. It was available with a range of inline-4, inline-5, and VR6 engines that displaced 1.4 to 3.2 liters.
Compared to the Polo of the same period, the Golf uses fully independent suspensions, and Volkswagen gave it access to the inline-5 and VR6 engines also found in the Passat.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the Volkswagen Golf V uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.
