Product Overview

Ford Focus 3 is a compact hatchback in production from 2010 to 2018. It was powered by a range of inline-3 and inline-4 engines that displaced 1.0 to 2.0 liters.
Compared to the Focus 2, the Focus 3 has a more modern yet generic exterior styling. It still uses fully independent suspensions, with the RS model adding AWD on top.
The official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.

External Reviews

carmagazine[1]

Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
All in, the show car is priced to the tune of £42,554.92, not including the matte black wrap from Joyce Design. Mountune hasn't benchmarked acceleration figures for the M400, but subjectively it feels markedly quicker to 62mph than the regular Focus RS. The cat-back exhaust is allowed to breathe more freely in Sport, and is truly deafening.
Pros
  • Superb low-down torque
  • Superb all-wheel drive
Cons
  • Fidgety ride quality
  • Fiddly infotainment system

topgear[2]

Reviewer score 60% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from topgear have found:
The Focus ST is a fun hot hatch, but it's showing its age. Rivals have surpassed it in terms of tech and luxury. It's still good enough to consider, particularly if you're offered a startlingly cheap deal. But it's now a long way from the hot hatch podium. Bring on the nextone.
Pros
  • Fun to drive
  • Fantastic infotainment system
  • Lots of equipment
Cons
  • Pricier than rivals
  • No automatic option
