Product Overview

Audi A5 Sportback B8 (Typ 8T) is a compact executive sedan in production from 2009 to 2011, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4 and V6 engines that displaced 1.8 to 3.2 liters.
While the A5 originally started as a coupe, Audi soon introduced a 5-door version a la BMW's Gran Coupe. In essence, the A5 Sportback is a hunchback version of the B8 Audi A4 with smaller interior space but the exact same underpinnings. Many found the added impracticality a plus.
Unfortunately, this generation included a broad range of ultimately unreliable drivetrain components, including several of Audi's sub-par TFSI I4 engines and the troublesome CVT (marketed as Multitronic).
Audi has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.28 coefficient of drag to show for it.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the B8 Audi A5 Sportback comes with multi-link suspensions at all four corners. This provides the best cornering performance and tunability, at the expense of cost and a little bit of durability.
