Product Overview

Skoda Rapid Spaceback (chassis code NH1) is an affordable compact hatchback in production from 2013 to 2019. It was available with a range of inline-3 and inline-4 engines that displaced 1.0 to 1.6 liters.
Essentially, the Rapid Spaceback is a wagon-hatchback hybrid version of the Mk4 Volkswagen Polo, though as usual VAG managed to cut some costs here to boost its margins.
While it is hardly surprising that Skoda finds it acceptable to market a vehicle with this level of fit and finish as well as quality control, what astonishes is that many consumers took the bait.
About the only positives of this vehicle are low tax and low fuel consumption.

Reviewer score 52% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
The Skoda Rapid Spaceback is a very rational car choice. It's hugely practical, the TSI engine is quiet and smooth and it's well-equipped – three very attractive qualities for young family buyers. However, it's all just a bit... dull. Look up a definition for the word ‘car', and Rapid would be perfect.
Pros
  • Fun to drive
  • Well-equipped
  • Decent infotainment system
Cons
  • Lacklustre interior quality
  • No six-speed manual gearbox
