Product Overview

Peugeot 308 II (chassis code T9) is an affordable compact hatchback in production from 2013 to 2021. It was available with a range of inline-3 and inline-4 engines that displaced 1.2 to 2.0 liters.
Compared to the 308 I, the 308 II has a more mature exterior styling. Peugeot made some effort to bring in a couple of Aisin automatic transmissions and largely addressed perennial problems of its vehicles on that front. However, in the same stroke PSA added a few tiny engines that have proven to wear out quickly.
The diesel engines remain fuel efficient, and the vehicle has a small 10.4m (34.1ft) turning circle.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 65% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
Peugeot has a long history in producing estate versions of its small and family cars. Peugeot 308 SW GT is the result of mashing those two concepts into one car: a hot estate. The 308 SW is 4585mm long, which allows for 660 litres of luggage capacity, with 1660 litres if you fold those rear seats down.
Pros
  • Powerful engine
  • Lots of space for passengers
Cons
  • Lack of space
  • Not class leading

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The Peugeot 308 uses the PSA Group's EMP2 platform, which can also be found under the 3008 and 5008 SUVs, as well as the Citroen C4 SpaceTourer people carrier. This platform focuses on saving weight, and as a result the 308 handles far better than its predecessor, but is also more efficient without compromising performance. Boot space in the 308 is good, and a capacity of 470 litres is among the best in the class. The driving position is better than you'll find in a 208, but you still need to move the steering wheel down to your lap.
Pros
  • Cheap to run
  • Good range of petrol and BlueHDi engines
Cons
  • No four-wheel drive
  • Lack of rear legroom
