Product Overview

SEAT Ibiza 5 (Typ 6F) is an affordable subcompact hatchback in production from 2017 to 2021, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-3 and inline-4 engines that displaced 1.0 to 1.6 liters.
Compared to the Mk4 Ibiza, the Mk5 Ibiza brought little substantive changes, though the vehicle did become somewhat more coherent in design. Essentially, it is a cheapend Volkswagen Polo, with a range of entry-level features to attest to this positioning.
The official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
The new Ibiza is just plain bigger than before. Crucially, though, it doesn’t feel too big. Rear passengers get more room and the Ibiza’s usefulness for an Ikea trip has been increased. The ride, with MacPherson front struts and a semi-rigid rear axle, can prove a touch jolting on bumpy city streets.
Pros
  • Grown-up interior
  • Great infotainment system
Cons
  • No reversing camera
  • Boot is a touch jolting

carmagazine[2]

Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
There's technology aplenty on the new Ibiza, but unlike Nissan's new Micra, the Ibiza doesn't flaunt it with lots of switches and unusual kit. The dashboard feels quite barren, especially with the ‘mystic magenta' fascia which deposits an overbearing slab of angular gold/beige across the cockpit. The impression is of a stable, sporty car with a pretty comfortable ride.
Pros
  • Punchy turbocharged engine
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Excellent tech
Cons
  • Not the most fun to drive
