Product Overview

BMW 1 Series F21 3-door is a compact hatchback in production from 2012 to 2015, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4 and inline-6 engines that displaced 1.6 to 3.0 liters.
Compared to the E81 that preceded it, the F21 suffers from the same issues as F20 does compared to the E87. Notably, the car looks less imposing and more like an economy car; its engine lineup has become a disaster, as BMW entered the worst period of its recent history in terms of engine reliability.
The official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.
