Product Overview

BMW i3 is an electric subcompact hatchback in production from 2013 to 2017, whereupon it received a facelift. It was powered by a 170hp electric motors with an optional 38hp tiny inline-2 engine as range extender.
More of a concept vehicle than a useful car, the i3 has a rather unconventional styling that many find ugly. It does offer a decent 0.28 coefficient of drag and rosy official fuel economy rating.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the BMW i3 uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.
