Product Overview

BMW 1 Series E87 5-door is a compact hatchback in production from 2004 to 2007, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4 and inline-6 engines that displaced 1.6 to 3.0 liters.
The first BMW to bear the 1 Series badge, the E87 is the 5-door successor to the E46 3 Series Compact, now with a well-defined hatchback design. It comes with a range of interesting engines, including the great N52 found in the 130i.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the BMW 1 Series E87 uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance; still, the vehicle has fully independent suspensions, which is rare for a hatchback.
