Product Overview

Alfa Romeo MiTo (Type 955) is an affordable subcompact hatchback in production from 2008 to 2013, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-2 and inline-4 engines that displaced 0.9 to 1.6 liters.
Design-wise, the MiTo can be said to be rather "cute", though it is too small for its curves. Alfa Romeo put a range of tiny little engines in the MiTo, including a couple of I2 engines marketed as TwinAir. These tiny engines don't provide the type of driving experience that one would expect from an Italian car.
The official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.

External Reviews

autoexpress[1]

Reviewer score 24% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The Alfa Romeo MiTo's interior layout is simple and easy to use, but the fit and finish is woefully inadequate. All versions are well equipped, with even base models getting air-con, a trip computer, electric windows and stop and start as standard. The MiTo is only offered as a three-door, so access to the back seats is difficult and space inside is quite limited.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Good standard equipment
  • Decent fuel economy
Cons
  • Poor build quality
  • Poor infotainment system
