Product Overview

Mercedes-Benz A-Class W176 is an affordable compact hatchback in production from 2012 to 2015, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4 engines that displaced 1.5 to 2.1 liters.
Compared to the horrible W169 A-Class, Mercedes seemed to have gotten its acts together with the W176. It is now comfortably an economy car, and Mercedes managed to make it competitive to the BMW 1 Series and Audi A3 of the same period. The horrible CVT was replaced by a 7-speed DCT, and the car finally received a basic fully-independent suspension setup.
The official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.
