Product Overview

Dodge Caliber is a compact hatchback in production from 2006 to 2011. It was available with a range of inline-4 engines that displaced 1.8 to 2.4 liters.
Introduced at a time when Chrysler made several quirky vehicles, and Dodge Caliber has an "unusual" exterior design that is rather interesting, even though it is by no means pretty. The front-end easily fools one to think that the car is more powerful than it really is.
Unfortunately, the drivetrain of the Caliber was pieced together with off-the-shelf engines and transmissions that didn't always work well together. Dodge used CVT for the automatic models, which proved disastrous, too.
Worth noting is perhaps the SRT-4 model with a rather potent engine.

Reviewer score 52% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
Dodge Caliber is America's answer to the ubiquitous Ford but with a big dose of attitude thrown in for free. Young couples, small families, and anyone with an eye for a bargain are top of Dodge's hit list. At £11,500 the Caliber looks great value against its opposite number at Ford.
Pros
  • Cheap-feeling plastics
  • Lots of fun to drive
Cons
  • Lack of yee-ha
