Product Overview

Infiniti Q30 (chassis code H15) is a compact hatchback in production from 2015 to 2019. It was available with a range of inline-4 engines that displaced 1.5 to 2.2 liters.
Interestingly, the Q30 was built on the platform of W176 Mercedes A-Class hatchback and uses several Mercedes engines. Both 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT transmissions were available.
Infiniti has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.28 coefficient of drag to show for it. The official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the Infiniti Q30 uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.

External Reviews

autoexpress[1]

Reviewer score 48% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The Q30's biggest problem is that it rivals the Audi A3, BMW 1 Series and Mercedes A-Class. All Q30s need servicing every 12 months or 15,000 miles. The prices include fresh brake fluid every two years, but the coolant needs replacing every six years for £100.
Pros
  • Cheap to buy
  • Good standard equipment
  • Decent infotainment system
Cons
  • Lack of four-wheel drive
  • Poor fuel economy

topgear[2]

Reviewer score 39% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from topgear have found:
The Q30 starts at £20,550 for a boggo 1.6-litre petrol, but for a decently kitted-out 1.5 diesel, you'll need north of £26,000. Squished windows mean the Q30's visibility is poor, and it's very cramped in the back (a sensation not helped by the claustrophobic glasshouse) The boot's a competitive 368 litres, atleast.
Pros
  • Sleek, well-built interior
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Decent infotainment system
Cons
  • Lack of practicality
  • Slightly cramped back seats
