Product Overview

Volvo V60 facelift is a compact executive station wagon in production from 2013 to 2018. It was available with a range of inline-4, inline-5, and inline-6 engines that displaced 1.5 to 3.0 liters.
During the first phase of the production run, the facelifted V60 differed from the pre-facelift model largely in minor design updates, though some of the I4 engines received up-rating.
Throughout the model run, Volvo gradually discontinued its I5 and I6 engines, even though the T5 and T6 monikers were kept and the outputs, thanks to higher boosts, were kept with smaller I4 engines.
Unfortunately, this was the period when Volvo's driveline reliability dropped, largely due to the drastic move to update all its vehicles to use essentially variations of the same engine.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the Gen1 Volvo V60 uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.

carmagazine[1]

Reviewer score 86% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
Polestar has worked with Ohlins, suppliers of its racing shocks, to develop them specifically for the V60. The front springs are a massive 80 per cent stiffer than the already battle-hardened R-Design. Off the mark, its 5.0 sec 0-62mph time doesn't feel neck-snapping, but the launch control means you can lay rubber with such ease.
Pros
  • Powerful V60
  • Impressive handling
  • Superb handling
Cons
  • Not the fastest estate
  • Not the most practical
