Product Overview

Hyundai Sonata 7 (chassis code LF) is an affordable mid-size sedan in production from 2014 to 2017, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4 engines that displaced 1.6 to 2.4 liters.
A crucial product, the Gen7 Sonata showed the world the newfound confidence from Hyundai. It has a more mature design and a belatedly competitive drivetrain in the economy class. Rather than copying, it posed a real threat to the throne of Honda Accord.
Engineers at Hyundai clearly made a great effort in aerodynamics, with a class-leading 0.24 coefficient of drag to show for it.
Still, the vehicle continued to use MacPherson struts, which aren't the best for handling or comfort but which are common on economy vehicles.
