Product Overview

Hyundai Elantra 3 (chassis code XD) is an affordable compact sedan in production from 2000 to 2006. It was available with a range of inline-4 engines that displaced 1.6 to 2.0 liters.
While Hyundai has come a way since 2000, the Gen3 Elantra was launched at a time when its vehicles were uninspiring, poorly-equipped, and badly-appointed. The Elantra 3 was rather underpowered to begin with, and its 5-speed manual / 4-speed auto transmissions weren't quick, efficient, or all that reliable, either.
Still, the vehicle improved a bit after the facelift in appearance.
