Product Overview

Audi S4 B5 (Typ 8D) is a compact executive sports sedan in production from 1997 to 2001. It was available with a bi-turbo V6 engine that displaced 2.7 liters. Power is sent to all four wheels via either a 6-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission.
The V6TT engine had a good level of power output and throttle response and was loved by many. The 6-speed manual paired to the Torsen quattro AWD gave the car very good handling characteristics, despite it being nose-heavy like all Audis. The 5HP19A automatic, however, is known to be rather weak, due to Clutch A drum design.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the B5 Audi S4 comes with multi-link front + double-wishbone rear suspensions. This provides the best cornering performance and tunability, at the expense of cost and a little bit of durability.
