Audi S3 (Typ 8V) Sedan is a compact sedan in production from 2013 to 2016, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a single 2.0-liter TFSI engine that produced 300PS, a figure that coincidentally the 4.2L V8 from just over a decade ago did.
Unlike the 4.2L V8 from a decade ago, however, the S3 8V Sedan is highly boosted. Power is sent via either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed DCT to all four wheels. Needless to say, the long-term reliability of this tiny engine is discomforting.
Also questionable is the S3 Sedan's styling: while the A3/S3/RS3 works fantastically as a hatchback, the jury is still out whether time will be kind to another cab-forward tiny sedan with sporting pretense.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the S3 Sedan (8V) uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.
