Product Overview

Audi A6 C6 (Typ 4F) facelift is an executive sedan in production from 2008 to 2011. It was available with a range of V6, V8, and inline-4 engines that displaced 2.0 to 4.2 liters.
Potential buyers are likely to be drawn to the naturally-aspirated V8. Unfortunately, with FSI this engine was one of the least reliable V8s to have ever been made in the automotive industry. It has an exceptionally convoluted timing chain setup that is very hard (and costly) to keep up. It also suffers from severe carbon build-up and ignition issues.
In comparison, the more sensible choices were the V6 diesels.
The FWD models used CVT transmission marketed as "Multitronic". These are also proven unreliable.
Audi has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.28 coefficient of drag to show for it.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the C6 A6 comes with multi-link suspensions at all four corners. This provides the best cornering performance and tunability, at the expense of cost and a little bit of durability.
