Product Overview

Audi A4 B9 (Typ 8W) naming update of the B9 A4 compact executive sedan was in production from 2018 to 2019, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4 and V6 engines that displaced 2.0 to 3.0 liters.
This main change was Audi's adoption of a new nomenclature (a two-digit number that appear rather random) for the engines. Still, this seemingly confusing change indeed cleared things up: Audi / VW markets engines with the same displacement at various output levels.
Now, the interesting V6 TDIs are named 45 TDI and 50 TDI. The latter uses ZF 8HP automatic transmission; other non-manual cars used DCT marketed under the "S-tronic" name.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the B9 A4 comes with multi-link suspensions at all four corners. This provides the best cornering performance and tunability, at the expense of cost and a little bit of durability.
