Product Overview

Fujifilm X-A7 is a premium mirrorless camera in the Fujifilm X-mount system. Introduced by Fujifilm in 2019, it comes with an APS-C sensor with 24 MP (6000 x 4000) resolution.
The camera has a poor battery life, and a second or third battery may be needed to get you through the day. The X-A7's 6.0 fps burst rate limits its use for certain types of photography, but it is hardly something that most photographers should worry about.
The Fujifilm X-A7 comes with a fully articulated touch display and 425 autofocus points.

External Reviews

digitaltrends[1]

Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
The X-A7 has a new hybrid phase and contrast-detection autofocus system with 117 selectable points. The camera weighs just 11.3 ounces but feels solid and well-made. The XC 15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens that comes with the camera is far from the best.
Pros
  • Excellent autofocus performance
  • Stylish design
  • Fingerprint sensor
Cons
  • No internal image stabilization
  • High ISO noise

dpreview[2]

Reviewer score 88% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from dpreview have found:
-A7 produced attractive, vibrant images. Detail capture levels are high and well-judged sharpening and noise reduction make the most of this. The touch interface is the quickest way to access and change settings while shooting. It takes just two swipes to access settings like focus mode, the Q menu, white balance, and film simulation modes.
Pros
  • Compact, compact design
  • Excellent image quality
  • Easy to use touchscreen
Cons
  • No EVF
  • No dedicated aperture ring

pcmag[3]

Reviewer score 79% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The X-A7 captures photos using a 24MP APS-C format sensor. Unlike more advanced Fujifilm models, the imager uses a standard Bayer color filter array. The camera is fine for short bursts of quick action, but you'll want to consider the X-T30 or a6400 if it's your primary interest.
Pros
  • Excellent image quality
  • Built-in viewfinder
  • 4K video recording
  • In-camera Raw processing
Cons
  • No in-body stabilization
  • No built-in autofocus

techradar[4]

Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
Fujifilm X-A7 is a small, lightweight, entry-level mirrorless camera that performs marvelously well in the real world, although handling the little snapper can take some getting used to. The rear display is now a 3.5-inch touchscreen with a 2,760k-dot resolution that's fully articulating. It's also wider with an aspect ratio of 16:9, meaning you get a bigger and sharper view of the world when compared to the 3-inch display that had a resolution of just 1,040K dots. New Bayer-filter sensor has copper wiring that significantly reduces noise levels and offers faster readouts.
Pros
  • Bigger, sharper screen
  • Better autofocus than the X-A5
  • Improved battery life
Cons
  • No wireless charging
  • No 4K video recording

tomsguide[5]

Reviewer score 70% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
Fujifilm's X-A7 can capture 4K video at 30 frames per second. Video is much sharper than HD clips, even when played back at HD or smaller resolution. But at a max speed of 30 fps, the video can make fast-moving subjects look choppy.
Pros
  • Compact design
  • Excellent image quality
  • High-resolution video
Cons
  • Weak flash
  • No viewfinder
  • Feeble built-in flash
