Product Overview

Olympus M.Zuiko ED 100-400mm F5.0-6.3 IS is a super telephoto zoom lens for Micro Four Thirds-mount. It covers the MFT image circle. Introduced by Olympus in 2020, it has 21 elements in 15 groups.
Like most zoom lenses, the Olympus M.Zuiko ED 100-400mm F5.0-6.3 IS is externally-zooming. Fortunately, Olympus has provided a zoom lock that at least stops zoom creep. For incremental weathers, Olympus is kind enough to include weather sealing.
The 0.57x magnification opens up a lot of opportunity for macro shots. As a super telephoto zoom lens, the Olympus M.Zuiko ED 100-400mm F5.0-6.3 IS can be quite useful for wild-life and landscape photography. Built-in image stabilization is almost a must-have at this focal range, and this lens does not disappoint on this front. Owners will also like the available tripod collar.

The Olympus M.Zuiko ED 100-400mm F5.0-6.3 IS has many of the trappings of a quality lens. It's built well, with weather protection, quick autofocus, and a tripod collar. Its zoom range is attractive, too. But for the price, we expect clearer results through the zoom range.
Pros
  • Compact, light package
  • Quick autofocus
  • Auto focus limiter
  • Teleconverter compatibility
Cons
  • Mediocre resolution
  • No macro focus
