Laowa 15mm f/2 Zero-D
Full-Frame LensProduct Gallery
Product Overview
Laowa 15mm F2 Zero-D is a manual-focus ultra wide-angle prime lens for Canon RF-mount, Leica L-mount, Nikon Z-mount, and Sony E-mount. It covers the full-frame image circle. Introduced by Laowa in 2016, it has 12 elements in 9 groups.
Manual focus may be limiting to some, but purists will find it much more engaging. There are also fewer things to go wrong on the long run.
As an ultra wide-angle prime lens that happens to have relatively small maximum aperture, it is best suited for landscape photography. Even though the lens is not stabilized, at this focal range it does not usually matter. In fact, some may be able to get cleaner corners without image stabilization.

Reviewer score 70% (normalized by Neofiliac)Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/2 Zero-D is a good lens at a good price. It shows a modest amount, about one percent, of barrel distortion. Its vignette, on the other hand, is a real issue. The resolution isn't stunning wide open, but the close-up focus effect is.
Pros
- Dust and fluorine protection
- Compact design
- Automatic focus ring
- Fluorine fluorine filter
Cons
- Vignette at f/2.8
