Product Overview

Voigtlander 65mm F2 Macro APO-Lanthar is a manual-focus short telephoto macro lens for Sony E-mount and Sony E-mount. It covers the full-frame image circle. Introduced by Voigtlander in 2017, it has 10 elements in 8 groups.
Manual focus may be limiting to some, but purists will find it much more engaging. There are also fewer things to go wrong on the long run. Unfortunately, Voigtlander has opted to omit weather sealing for this lens, so owners should pay extra attention when shooting in incremental weathers.
A telephoto prime lens, the Voigtlander 65mm F2 Macro APO-Lanthar is well suited for portrait photography. Those who like sunstars (sun bursts) will be pleased by the lens' even-numbered aperture count, though conversely those who find sunstars distracting may have the opposite feeling.

The Voigtländer 65mm F2 Macro Apo Lanthar is an exceptional lens with a strong character. For me this lens will be terrific for portraits, street photography, some details shooting, proxy photography, but for real macro, I still prefer Sony 90mm macro. All photos are straight out of the camera with no sharpening or any adjustments.
