Product Overview

A highlight of the LG SM900 is a high screen-to-body ratio up to 94.52%. Additionally, it supports full-array LED local-dimming. With mini-LEDs, full-array LED dimming helps the panel achieve higher contrast and dynamic range. It supports HDR formats including Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma). Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
The LG SM9000 has brilliant color and impressive brightness at very wide viewing angles. My single biggest gripe with this TV is its surprisingly poor backlighting system. Gamers will love its low input lag and other gaming-friendly features, but movie and TV buffs will find themselves lost in the dark.

    • Easy to set up and use
    • Easy-to-use webOS smart TV system
    Cons

    Reviewers from rtings have found:
The LG SM9000 is an okay TV for watching movies. It can play 24p movies judder-free, which is great, and it has a great motion interpolation feature. Sadly, it's not ideal for dark-room gaming because of its low contrast ratio. On the other hand, this TV can display a great wide color gamut for HDR content.
    Pros
    • Wide viewing angles
    • Excellent low input lag
    • Great motion interpolation feature
    • Good response time
    Cons
    • Low contrast ratio
    • Poor black uniformity
    • No local dimming feature
