HP EliteBook 845 G8 is the AMD-powered variant of the EliteBook 840 G8. It is HP's best effort at a full-featured 14-inch business laptop. For those who appreciate the power that the Ryzen PRO 5000-series APUs deliver (in both single-core and multi-core performance compared to Intel's Tiger Lake), it is a compelling way to get more done for less.
Like the 840 G8, the EliteBook 845 G8 is configurable with a range of FHD displays, including a Privacy Display with 1000 nits peak brightness and a matte touch display. It can be purchased with up to 64GB of memory and 2TB of SSD, too.
However, as it is with EliteBook 835 G8 vis-à-vis 830 G8 in the 13.3-inch class, the EliteBook 845 G8 carries some compromises imposed by HP: The laptop's optional mobile broadband is limited to 4G LTE, NFC is unavailable, and the USB-C ports are limited to USB 3.2.
